Staro Process Control (SPC), in accordance with SANS-IEC 60439, developed a Type Tested MCC, offering our clients a Type 1 MCC. The MCC has a pressure release mechanism which also helps with heat dissipation.

The following main criteria were tested with amongst others Allen-Bradley components:

  • Impulse voltage withstand test;
  • Verification of degree of protection (IP3X and IP4X);
  • Verify forms of separation and internal degree of separation;
  • Temperature-rise test at IP3X;
  • Temperature-rise at IP4X;
  • Short-circuit withstand strength test on main and distribution busbars (50kA @ 525VAC for 1 second);
  • Short-circuit withstand strength test on neutral and earth busbars;
  • Short-circuit withstand strength test on protective equipment (50kA @ 525VAC);

Staro Electrical Systems (SES), which forms part of the Staro Group, has been serving the industry with its panel assembly facility for the past nine years. SES, which is based in Alberton, caters for all control and electrical panels including MCCs, DBs, Junction boxes, Starter boxes and Control consoles. Staro had its MCC design Type Tested during 2010.

Our installed base includes companies like ArcelorMittal, Sasol, various Collieries, Cape Gate, AfriSam, Rand Water, Edgars etc.
